Koolskools covers record ground for Fairtrade Fortnight

Each year we think that we cannot possibly cover more ground during Fairtrade Fortnight, and the next year our mileage is even higher! This year Andy spent several weeks in Scotland, amongst other things participating in a very special and memorable sponsored visitor speaker tour. The Scottish Fair Trade Forum combined with the City of Edinburgh and the latter’s Fairtrade Campaign Group to bring Pamela Intelligent, a seamstress at our factory in Mauritius, to Scotland to tell her very moving story of a life in the textiles industry in Mauritius – on which see our March 2015 blog. Meanwhile, elsewhere during Fairtrade Fortnight, Mike was offering our educational Fairtrade talks to hundreds of school children in North Wales, Essex, Yorkshire, Hampshire, Lancashire, Essex, West Sussex and more. In Kent, Mike was able officially to open the Koolskools-sponsored competition for students at local schools in and around the Edenbridge area to design a Fairtrade cotton polo, as part of a great initiative supporting the concept of Fairtrade cotton school uniform in the area initiated by the Edenbridge Fairtrade Campaign Group.
